Accidental New York Vacation

A quick recap of the adventure so far…

NYC

So Chris got to see New York for the first time, and I got to play with Sophie and Aly (who just moved to NYC 3 weeks ago) in Manhattan! Yes, we missed our flight to Turkey TWICE but we had to look on the bright side, and two days out of a 16 day trip is not that bad…

We also hooked up with a friend of a friend-Chris´friend Tony´s brother-ın-law Ryan. He lives in Brooklyn and ıs currently understudying for the musical Hair in New York. He is a great guy, and took us to a wonderful bar in the West Village called The Village Underground where a large and talented group of musicians play covers from all genres, late late late into the night. We might have stayed out a little too late considering we had to attempt to get on a plane for the third time the next day, but we had a blast dancing and singing and hanging out with Sophie, Aly and Ryan. Loves it!

Trapped ın New York!

Just a quick update- Chris and I missed our connectıng flight to Istanbul TWICE and stayed overnight, first in Queens near JFK and then in Manhattan before finally catching a flight last night. We made it to first class! What a relief…and I decided (again) that it´s really the only humane way to fly, especially overseas.

We are currently in Turkey, staying with a wonderful family, Engin and hıs wife Yasemin and their two adorable children. Mina the two-year-old calls me “habla” which means older sister in Turkish.

Chris and I are off to walk around the island before the sun sets. More details later…
